Family Programs

The family programs at the Morse are free to participants. Many of the programs are offered on Friday evenings in conjunction with the free public hours the Museum provides each Friday night from November through April. Also, free family guides are available at the Visitor Services Desk.

Art Demonstrations

Select Fridays, 6:00 p.m.

Demonstrations take place in the McKean Pavilion, 161 West Canton Avenue (just behind the Museum), and include a free take-home activity for children.

Family Tours

Fridays, November 13, January 29, February 12, and April 16

7:00 p.m. 

Following each Friday night art demonstration, the Morse offers a docent tour through the galleries for the whole family. Learn about Louis Comfort Tiffany and American art of the late 19th- and early 20th-centuries.

 

Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival Children's Workshop

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, March 19, 20, and 21

10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

The Morse joins other museums in providing fun art activities for children at the 2009 Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival. The festival takes place in downtown Winter Park with activities at the Children's Workshop Village. The area is located at the north end of the park, adjacent to Morse Boulevard and west of the railroad tracks. For more details, visit the Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival homepage.

Family Guides

Families visiting the Museum may request free family brochures written to help visitors of all ages better appreciate objects and themes in the Museum's collection and special exhibits. The current guides are also available as PDF downloads.

Summer Family Programs

Each summer the Morse organizes free programs exclusively for elementary-school-aged children and their parents or guardians. Please note that the number of participants is limited, and reservations are required. For more information, or to make a reservation, please call the Education Department at (407) 645-5311, extension 136. For scheduling purposes, please do not e-mail reservations requests.

Tuesday FamilyTours

June 15, 22, and 29; July 6, 13, 20 and 27; and August 3

Bring your family to the Morse and explore the late-19th and early-20th-century American art in our galleries. Designed for children in grades K to 5 and their parents or guardians, each 45-minute tour is led by a Museum docent and includes gallery activities as well as a take-home activity.

Friday Family Films

June 25; July 9 and 23; and August 6
This 90-minute program for children in grades K to 5 and their parents or guardians includes a short film, a tour of one or more of the galleries at the Morse, and an art project related to the Museum's collection. A $5 refundable deposit per child is also requested when making reservations for this program.
