FRIDAY BROWN BAG MATINEES
2007-2008

The Museum's free film and video series is shown at noon on select Fridays in the McKean Pavilion, 161 West Canton Avenue (just behind the Museum). Each matinee lasts about an hour. Those attending are invited to bring a lunch. The Museum provides soft drinks. On the last Friday of each series, the Museum will host a special event and provide refreshments.

 

FALL SERIES: TWENTIETH-CENTURY DESIGN
October 19: Bauhaus: The Face of the 20th Century (50 minutes)
October 26: Art Deco (29 minutes) and Icons of Twentieth-Century Design: The Coca-Cola Bottle and the Red and Blue Chair (20 minutes)
November 2: Icons of Twentieth-Century Design: The London Transport Underground Map and the Volkswagen Beetle (20 minutes) and Icons of Twentieth-Century Design: Composition Cutlery and the Swatch (20 minutes)*

*After the film, Orlando artist Nancy Jay will talk about the evolution of her abstract painting..

February 1: The Best of Times, the Worst of Times: Wealth Building, 1851-1945 (48 minutes)

February 8: Thomas Edison (50 minutes)
February 15: The Meiji Period (52 minutes)
February 22: Granada (40 minutes) and The Alhambra (30 minutes)
February 29 : Movie Field Trip — Magic of the White City (116 minutes) *

*This film will be our special event for the series and will be shown at the Aloma Cinema Grill in Winter Park .
